Section I. - Article Overview, Elections, and Appointments

This article of the Family Constitution outlines the duties, expectations, and the conditions of all positions within the Family.

All elected positions will be decided by a popular vote with a quorum of seventy-five percent (75%) of the active membership. If one of these elected positions becomes vacant before the end of the term, an election to replace the individual must occur within the week of the vacancy. Campaigning and nominations will be opened three weeks before the end of term. Election votes will then come into effect after two weeks campaigning and nominations and a final vote completed on the last week of the term. A record of each individual's term will be kept in the record keeping forum. The individual's term starts the day after he or she was voted into the position. An individual is limited to two (2) terms consecutively in the same position, but may choose to run again at a later date. Also, an individual can run for another position at the end of the two (2) terms.

The positions elected directly by the people are the positions of Don, the Recruiting Officers, and the Councilmen. All other positions are appointed by the Don; however, his appointments must be approved by a majority vote of the Councilmen.

Section II. - The Don

The Don is the executive head of the Family. This individual should embody all the ideals of the Family and lead the clan through conflict, peace, loss, and victory. The duties of the Don are to oversee all the actions of the divisions, to enact policies for reporting matches, status reports, etc. and to make executive decisions regarding votes. The Don may choose to veto any proposition; however, his veto can be overturned by a two-thirds majority vote of a seventy-five percent (75%) quorum of the active membership.

The Don's term is 4 months long. The Don also may be removed from office by a motion led by the Council with a three-fourths supporting vote from the active membership.

Section III. - The Underbosses

The Underbosses are the Don's right and left hand men or women. The purpose of the Underbosses are to aide the Don. The duties of the Underbosses are to enforce all policies instated by the Don, assist in monitoring of divisions, function as advisors to the Capos, Enforcers, and members of the Family and any other duties as they see fit.

The Underbosses are appointed by the Don with the Council's approval. Upon a new Don's election, the Don may choose to keep the Underbosses or appoint new ones. The number of Underbosses the Don will be allowed to appoint will be determined based on the number of Councilmen by the following schematic:

The Number of Councilmen - 1 = The Number of Underbosses.

See Section IV for determining the number of Councilmen.

Section IV. - The Council

The Council is comprised of individuals whose judgment is objective and held in high regard. The Council is responsible for interpreting the Constitution when there is a conflict or debate with a policy, a Family law, or individual's act. Also, the Council presides over discussions and debates regarding member conflicts, the impeachment of the Don, and the pardoning of former members into the clan. One final duty of the Council is to approve or deny the Don's appointments for Underbosses and Capos.

A Councilmen's term is 3 months. The number of Councilmen is determined by the clan size. There will be 1 Councilman per fifteen to twenty-five (15 - 25) clan members; however, at any point in time, there will be no fewer than three (3) Councilmen and no more than five (5) Councilmen.

Section V. - The Capos

The Capos are the leaders of the major divisions of the Family. The number of Capos will reflect the number of divisions in the Family. The Capos' duties are to assign members to the appropriate squads, to nominate and appoint Enforcers, to resolve conflicts, and enact and instate policies for their division, such as practice reports, meetings, etc. However, these policies cannot be in conflict with or in violation of the Constitution or any policy made by the Don.

The Capos are appointed by the Don and approved by the Council. Upon election of a new Don, the Don may choose to keep the current Capos or appoint new ones.

Section VI. - Enforcers

The Enforcers prepare the Family's squads for competitions and lead them on the battlefields. The Enforcers should be active in their game of choice, and committed to it wholly. Enforcers will establish the practice times and other important criteria for their squads, such as requirements to be on the squad, the size of the squad, etc.

The Enforcers are nominated and appointed by the Capos and may be demoted and replaced at the discretion of the Capo or Don.

Section VII. - The Commission

The Commission is the recruiting branch of the Family, comprised of two Commissioners (Recruiting Officers). The Commissioners are responsible for maintaining an updated list of the active membership, welcoming new recruits, processing recruits' applications, and maintaining records regarding those recruits.

The Commissioners are appointed by Don with a majority approval by the Council. Upon election of a new Don, the newly elected Don may choose to keep the existing Commissioners or appoint new ones.

Section VIII. - The Guides

The Guides are the only position not elected or appointed. Guides are individuals of the clan that are responsible for welcoming and evaluating incoming recruits. Guides are expected to spend time in and out of the game to get to the know a recruit's potential and character and how exactly that recruit would fit in the Family. Individuals interested in being Guides should contact the Recruiting Officers and offer their services.

Guides are expected to provide a full in-depth review at the time requested by the Recruiting Officers in the proper forum as the Guides' evaluations will aid in the determination of a recruit's acceptance or denial.
