Section I. Article Overview
This article of the Family Constitution will lay out the recruitment process as well as all voting procedures for general clan votes, and elections of power positions.
Section II. Recruitment Process
- Step 1: Recruit fills out an
application. - Step 2: If recruit is under the age limit of 18 the
commissioner(s) will instruct the recruit to get in contact with the
current tF Leadership(Don, Underbosses, Commissioners, Council, and
Capos) for an entry level examination to determine maturity and to
evaluate how they may fit into the mold of a tF member. This will be a 4
day waiting period before moving onto Step3. If the recruit is 18 or
older, they will by pass Step 2 and move on to Step 3. - Step 3: A
commissioner(s) will assign 1-2 Guides for a 14-day period. - Step 4:
At the end of the 14-day period, Guides will provide a full evaluation
and write-up detailing the recruit's attitude, character, potential, and
contributions to the Family. (see review rules below) The
commissioner(s) will then make a decision based on the evaluations and
other criteria. - Step 5: Upon approval of the commissioner(s), the
recruit will then "recite" the Family oath (see below) as a final rite
of passage, as well as add his proper tags. The commissioner(s) will
then make an official announcement in confirmation of the recruit's new
member status.
Section IIa.-
Limiting recruitment
Recruitment periods will start at the
beginning of every other month and have a duration of one month. During
the recruitment period, depending on the number of Guides, there will be
a "x" number of recruitment slots that can be filled at any given time.
The number of recruitment slots will be directly dependent on the
number of available Guides. Each Guide will be assigned one recruit, and
two Guides will be assigned to each recruit. Once slots re-open, it
will be filled first come first serve. There will be no limit to how
many recruits can be gained each month, but rather how many recruits can
be going through the recruitment process at one time.
-
Oath: I do hereby swear by my hands and heart that I will uphold the
Family code in all that I do. I will bring honor and glory to the
efforts of the Family, hold dearest respect for my brothers and sisters
in the Family, and promote the good will of the Family to the public. By
this vow, I have been accepted by the Family and am bound to it and
will live and act by the ideals set forth by it.
Review Rules: When
evaluating someone, please use this hierarchy to determine what is
important and what should be focused on.
1. Character &
Personality 2. Activity & Responsiveness 3. Overall Potential 4.
Skill
Remember, we are not an elitist organization. The skilled
players do not automatically get in because of their prowess in a game.
We are a community; therefore, we need high-caliber people in the sense
of their character. Skill is a bonus in all cases. So do not think that
skill overrides a poor sport, a trash-talker, or immature individual.
When
giving out the review, be clear and fully elaborate on the experience
of the individual. Cite specific instances that you can remember that
truly showcase what is great (or horrible) about a recruit. Try to touch
on all four points mentioned above. Talk about their character. Talk
about how active they were and how eager they were to play or join.
Mention any specific skills or experience they have that could be a
vital asset. And if you feel the need to mention their skill, then do
so. However, do not make it the focal point of your review.
General
Tips: If it's one sentence consisting of, "He's a good guy." Then
you need to think a little bit harder. Again, try to touch on all
four points and cite specific instances. Such as, "He really impressed
me when... (insert event here)." If you truly are having problems
putting it into words, ask for help.
Any and all reviews deemed
that need more elaboration and thought, can and will be deemed
insufficient and will hence be disregarded. In order for a disregard to
be valid the commissioner who disregard's a review must state a reason
from the rules above for the disregard. If a guide has a review that is
disregarded he/she will receive a warning, two warnings will result in a
suspension of guide privileges for one month.
Section
III. General Clan Votes & Elections of Power Positions
The
elections will follow as noted in the Positions Article of the
Constitution. In the event a quorum is not made in the election vote or
in the rare event of a tie, a new vote will automatically follow in its
place. In election votes, members are required to state their choice of
candidate in the vote, as well as signed by their gamertag.
All
clan-wide votes will be preceeded (within 30 days) by a roll call of
active members which will last one (1) week. This roll call will be used
to determine active membership so that a proper quorum can be attained.
If the quorum attained is less than 50% of the total membership, then
quorum will be set to 75% of the active membership requiring majority
approval. Should more than five (5) members join, or five (5) members
defect after quorum is set (not a combination of the two), then there
must be a new roll call before any clan wide vote. If the quorum is not
met for a vote or if a tie occurs, a new vote can take its place if the
Don or three (3) active members motion for a new vote.
All
clan-wide votes will be open for vote for the duration of one (1) week. A
vote can be declared an emergency vote by the Don or three (3) active
members, in which the the duration of the vote will be reduced down to
three (3) days. In clan-wide votes, members are required to state their
vote as Yes, No, or Abstain and sign the vote with their gamertag.
A
simple majority is needed for a vote to succeed unless otherwise stated
in the Constitution or by the Don.
All voting matters not
explicitly described shall be at the discretion of the Don (or executive
council).
