Article of Members Rights, Duties, and Expectations
Section I. Article Overview
This article of the Family Constitution will lay out the member's rights, duties, and expectations of the Family. The member's rights are the individuals rights granted to all members of the Family regardless of power and position and cannot be denied. The duties and expectations of members reflect the ideals of character and the basic decorum displayed as a member and representative of the Family.
Section II. Members Rights
A. Voting Rights - After one week upon initiation into the Family, any active tagged member has the right to vote in any and all clan wide matters. All votes include elections, legislation, conflict decisions, and any other vote. However, if a member has been suspended access to the forums as punishment or consequence for their actions, he or she forfeits his or her right to vote in matters during his or her suspension.
B. Right to Propose - Any member can bring forth a proposition for change, be it amendment, policy, or Family bill. The proposition should be posted in the Family Discussion forum. Voting on the proposition will occur only after receiving two (2) supporting motions from other members.
Section III. Expectations of Members
A. Loyalty - Stay loyal to the Family. There will be no playing clan matches for other clans or allowing non-tagged members playing on tF teams. However, members can play with other teams and other players in scrimmages or non-ranked matches.
B. Honor - Remain honorable in the public eye. This means no trash-talking or demeaning other players on-line or in public. We carry ourselves in a professional and friendly manner at all times.
C. Respect - Respect your fellow brothers and sisters of the Family. No slander, no berating, and no harassment of members of the Family.
Section IV. Duties of Members
A. Promoting the Family - Promote the Family to draw more like-minded gamers into the rich community and friendly, but competitive atmosphere that is the Family.
B. Supporting the Family - All members are expected to support the Family Mission with non-gaming contributions. This includes, but is not limited, recruiting and promotion, web site content creation, forum activity, and tournament organization.
Section V. Punishment
Failure to uphold the duties and expectations will result in a member issue in which the Council will hold a hearing, regarding the offending member and their actions. The Council will decide proper punishment based on the evidence provided and the severity of the actions. Punishments can range from suspension from clan matches to removal from the clan and should directly reflect the severity of the issue. If the member feels that the punishment is too severe or a lack of evidence was presented, he may choose to petition for appeal. The appeal will only be granted if the petition receives signatures from twenty percent (20%) of the membership. Upon a granted appeal, a new hearing will be conducted by the Don, Underbosses, and the Capos.
